Many people shit on business and self-help books. They say you should think for yourself. That you should trust yourself and do what feels instinctual.
This is bullshit. If you’re doing something new, you have no right to trust yourself. You have no knowledge or experience with regards to this new thing. On what basis should you trust yourself?
That’s what nonfiction books are for, as a starting point. They give you a good way to start. Not the best way, a good way. Starting leads to getting feedback from the real world, so you can discover what works and does not work for you.
At the end of the day, what you should do is what works for you. But to discover what works for you, nonfiction books are a good starting point.
